1. Life Saving Rules

  • Everyone working at a Shell/NAM location must follow the Life Savings Rules training.
  • At the end of this online training there’s an interactive questionnaire. After you’ve completed this questionnaire you can enter your name and print a certificate. With this certificate you can get a stamp in your passport at the NAM security and you get access to the location.
  • Applicable for: Everyone
  • Validity period: Unlimited

2. Interactive Induction Offshore

  • Prior to working on a NAM Offshore location (except Office) one should watch this Offshore video (also called ILO).
  • At the end of this online training there’s an interactive questionnaire. After you’ve completed this questionnaire you can enter your name and print a certificate. With this certificate you can get a sticker in your passport at the NAM security and you get access to the location.
  • NOTE: ADDITIONALLY ONE SHOULD FOLLOW THE NAM SPECIFIC OFFSHORE TRAINING.
  • Applicable for: Offshore
  • Validity period: 2 years

3. NAM specific Interactive Induction Offshore

  • Prior to working on a NAM Offshore location (except Office) one should watch this NAM specific Offshore video.

4. NAM 'Assist & Assure' awareness video

  • Introduction safety program, “Assist & Assure”.
  • Purpose of the introduction: to provide insight into NAM program Assist & Assure methodology.
  • Target group: All NAM employees and contractors who are working at a NAM location.
  • Duration: 10 minutes (video)

5. Basic Offshore Safety introduction and Emergency Response Training (NOGEPA 0.5a including HUET + CA-EBS and S-Cape)

  • This three-day training is required in order to enter a NAM Offshore location.
  • NOTE: before following this training you must have a medical check for going Offshore. The S-cape training must be included specifically in this training in order to visit a NAM Offshore location.
  • Please contact one of the providers mentioned on the NOGEPA site for an appointment to follow the training: NOGEPA
  • Applicable for: Offshore
  • Validity: After 4 years the trainee should participate in the “Refresher course Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training Offshore” (NOGEPA 0.5b) including NAM-HUET + CA-EBS.

6. Total Access S-cape

  • Specific training in order to leave a NAM Offshore location in case of emergencies. This training can be part the NOGEPA 0.5a (Basic Offshore Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training). If you do not have a specific S-cape certificate in your safety passport, you need to follow this training separately.

7. VCA- basisveiligheid

  • This training is required in order to enter a NAM location.
  • Note: Do you have a supervisory role, or are you a permit requester, than you need to follow the VCA-vol training. See also ROLE/LOCATION specific button.
  • Applicable for: Applicable for: On and Offshore
  • Validity: 10 years

1. Permit to work training

  • The purpose of the permit to work system is to ensure that the parties involved in the execution of work, together reflect and discuss the risks of the work to be executed and the way they are going to manage these risks. This is the main element of the system, “communication tool between various parties and activities”. In this way anyone involved in the work is aware of the work, understands the risks involved and knows how the risks are being controlled.
  • With the permit to work training participants gain knowledge and skills to establish record arrangements in a permit to work.
  • TAKE NOTE: besides this training it is also required to conduct the CBT Training Permit Vision.

2. CBT training Permit Vision

  • At locations where the Permit Vision system for work permitting is used for requesting and issuing. The purpose of the CBT Permit Vision is obtaining knowledge for using the digital work permitting system for those involved in executing work. This by thinking and discussing the risks of the job to be carried out and how the risks are to be managed. The associated course NAM Permit to Work training is also required to obtain, the combination of these two are obligatory for NAM work activities.
  • By executing the course Permit Vision participants will gain knowledge and skills to address risk and mitigating measurements to be made in a permit to work.
  • Applicable for: Onshore and Offshore role-specific (Applicant / Holder / Issuer / Releaser, Verifier en Isolation Management)

3. NAM ‘Assist & Assure’ Knowledge Course

  • Introduction safety program, “Assist & Assure for frontline supervisors”.
  • Purpose of the introduction: to provide insight into the NAM program Assist & Assure methodology.
  • Target group: All NAM employees and contractors who as supervisors manage 3 or more people at a NAM location.
  • Duration: each Friday afternoon, approx. 2hrs

4. NOGEPA 0.8- H2S training

  • This training is mandatory for those who are going to work on a NAM location that is classified as an H2S location.
  • Please contact one of the providers mentioned on the NOGEPA site for making an appointment to sign up for the training: NOGEPA
  • Applicable for: H2S locations
  • Duration: Half a day
  • Validity period: 4 years

5. Working Safely With Mercury (Online Training)

  • Ensuring that everyone who enters a location where Mercury might be present, is sufficiently informed in order to work safely. Mandatory for all employees of the Contractors who execute NAM related work where Mercury is a main concern or should be a main concern.
  • PLEASE NOTE: for all employees of the Contractors who execute NAM related work where Mercury is a main concern or should be a main concern, manage, plan and/or focus. They are required to follow the Mercury course.

  • Applicable for: Role-specific/specific locations Onshore/Offshore
  • Duration: 15 minutes
  • Validity period: 4 years; Registration in HSElife LARS
  • FOLLOW THE WORKING SAFELY WITH MERCURY (ONLINE TRAINING) TRAINING

6. Working safely with Mercury Course

  • Participants become familiar with the hazards and measures on locations where Mercury is present. Ensuring that everyone who enters a location where Mercury might be present, is sufficiently informed in order to work safely. Mandatory for all managers of the Contractors who are involved in (preparatory) work on a Mercury site.

7. VCA-vol

  • This training is required in order to enter a NAM location when you are a supervisor, permit requester or permit issuer.
  • Applicable for: On and Offshore
  • Validity: 10 years

1. Safety Centre

  • Prior to working at a NAM location (offices excluded) one should follow this active training. After completing this training, you will get a stamp in your PSL.
  • Applies to: Onshore
  • Duration: E-learning about 30 min. (this module can be executed on any laptop/tablet, at home or at work)
    Experience Centre, incl. test: about 90 min. (completing the EC and the test take place in the Safety Centre)
